Robert J. Sweeney, Winnipeg born and
raised, is an award winning international
building and industrial designer. Now
retired, Sweeney dedicates most of his
time to his art. His sketches consist
of pencil markings followed by ink pens
and coloured pencil crayons. This style
adds texture and natural tones that
compliment the real buildings.
Presenting our history on paper through
traditional mediums also captures its
authenticity and character, creating
a welcoming feeling. These elaborate
works can take Sweeney anywhere
between 20-25 hours to create, depending
on how complicated the image is.
