Thank You!

Heritage Winnipeg would like to give a huge and sincere thank you to all the guests, volunteers, hosts, and sponsors of Doors Open Winnipeg 2021 that made the event a great success! It was a challenging year for everyone, but through rescheduling and ever changing public health guidelines we have persevered! Doors Open Winnipeg 2021 was a fun and safe weekend that allowed our community to connect and enjoy Winnipeg’s distinct spaces, outstanding architecture and vibrant history.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the social media contest and scavenger hunt, we enjoyed seeing all your lovely selfies and hope you had a good time finding our friend the Golden Boy. We also appreciate everyone who took the time to vote in the 11th Annual People’s Choice Awards. The votes have been counted and the results are in: Best Architecture – Dalnavert Museum, Best Tour – Ghost Sign Walking Tour and Best Overall Experience – Vaughan Street Jail. Congratulations to all the winners!

Doors Open Winnipeg may be over for 2021 but you can still enjoy some heritage at home with our Colouring our Community, a free downloadable colouring book with 12 original drawings by local artist Robert Sweeney! Or consider becoming a member of Heritage Winnipeg – your membership helps us advocate for and celebrate our built heritage, and keeps you up to date with the latest heritage news, events and opportunities.

We look forward to seeing you again next year to celebrate the stories our buildings tell!

Cheers,
Heritage Winnipeg
