Historic Places Days 2024

Heritage Winnipeg and the Millennium Centre are participating in this year’s Historic Places Days from July 10th to 17th!

The annual event is organized by the National Trust for Canada. Throughout the week, historic sites across the country promote their location and encourage visitors to travel to as many historic places as possible! It is a celebration of heritage, community, and culture, and we look forward to participating this year.

Here’s how we’ll be involved:

The Millennium Centre is listed on the Historic Places Days website, meaning that you can share photos of yourself inside or outside of the building and you’ll be entered into the HPD Photo Contest! There are plenty of prizes to be won, so be sure to share your favourite images when the time comes.

We have also put together a “Winnipeg 150” themed VisitList!

What is a VisitList? A VisitList is a feature of Historic Places Days in which anyone – visitors and organizations alike – can put together a list of historic places that relate to a specific topic or theme. They can add their own descriptions and photos for each location, and the website automatically places each point on a map. This is a great way to share unique perspectives of the city and province with the public while letting participants explore at their own pace. Our VisitList includes locations throughout the city that are significant to our 150-year history. Check it out for yourself!
