Heritage Winnipeg is currently accepting applications for a Heritage Officer Internship funded through Young Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic university graduate passionate about advocating for and celebrating Winnipeg’s built heritage to join our team. This positions will require you to work from our office located in the Exchange District. Applicants must meet the criteria set out by Young Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage to be considered.

HERITAGE OFFICER INTERNSHIP

This is a full time position, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (37.5 hours per week) or 8:30am to 4:30pm, for up to 40 weeks with an anticipated start date of May 6th, 2024. The rate of pay is $17.50 per hour. The position will include but is not limited to assisting in the planning and execution of projects, research and writing, marketing and communication, and the creation and management of Heritage Winnipeg online content. The ideal candidate is a university graduate from a relevant program who possess the following skills, traits, and interests:
– interested in history and built heritage
– familiar with Heritage Winnipeg
– capable of navigating both Mac and Windows operating systems
– competent in using Microsoft Office, Zoom, QuickBooks, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite and social media platforms
– superior communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
– able to meet tight deadlines
– works well both independently and as a team
– tenacious problem solver
– creative and critical thinker
– strong research and writing skills
