Showcase our Heritage! Art Contest

Happy Canada Day!

Winnipeg is often referred to as the “heart” of the country, but what is at the “heart” of Winnipeg? Heritage & Art, that’s what! This year, we’re celebrating Canada Day with the launch of our “Showcase our Heritage!” art contest.

Here’s how it works:

We’re calling for visual artists to send us their artwork that is based on or inspired by Winnipeg’s built heritage. All styles, skill levels and mediums are welcome! The artwork will then be featured on our social media accounts and artists will be given a chance to donate their artwork to Heritage Winnipeg.

But that’s not all! The artists who best represent the spirit of Winnipeg’s built heritage in their artwork will receive special prizes. Explore the vibrant community of the historic Exchange District with gift certificates provided by local businesses!

The Exchange District is a National Historic Site filled with fascinating history and one-of-a-kind streetscapes and architecture. Its landmark buildings, some of which date back to the end of the 19th century, are still a vibrant part of the community! Shops, restaurants, non-profits and artists contribute to this lively, tight-knit community. Winning artists will have a chance to truly experience the Exchange District, a Canadian gem!

Click the link below to submit your artwork from now until 11:59 pm August 31st, 2024.

We can’t wait to see the city through your creative eyes!
