Internship Opportunity: Heritage Officer

In anticipation of receiving funding approval through Young Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage, Heritage Winnipeg is currently accepting applications for a Heritage Officer Internship position. We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic university or college graduate passionate about advocating for and celebrating Winnipeg’s built heritage to join our team. Applicants must meet the criteria set out by Young Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage to be considered.

HERITAGE OFFICER INTERNSHIP POSITION
This is a full-time position; Monday to Friday; 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (35 hours per week); and requires working from our office located in Winnipeg’s Exchange District. The anticipated start date of the position is June 1st, 2026 with a duration of up to 35 weeks. The rate of pay is $17.50 per hour. The position will include but is not limited to assisting in the planning and execution of projects; research and writing; marketing and communication; and the creation and management of Heritage Winnipeg online content. The ideal candidate is a university graduate or college from a relevant program who possesses the following skills, traits and interests:
· interested in history and built heritage
· familiar with Heritage Winnipeg
· capable of navigating both Mac and Windows operating systems
· competent in using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, QuickBooks, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and social media platforms
· good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
· exceptional time management
· able to meet tight deadlines
· works well both independently and as a team
· detail-oriented
· superior problem solving abilities
· creative and critical thinker
· willingness to learn new skills
· strong research, writing and penmanship skills
