Greg Agnew: History Headliner

Heritage Winnipeg’s President, Greg Agnew, is making headlines for his work celebrating Winnipeg’s history. The article titled “Winnipeg’s a treasure-trove of historic sites” by Freda Glow was published in the Free Press: Community Review on Wednesday, November 6th, 2024, extolling the many ways which Agnew spreads his passion for our city’s past. With his interest in built heritage sparked by his aunt as a child, Agnew returned to the topic upon retirement. Wanting to share his enthusiasm for history, Agnew has now spent the past two decades making presentations, advocating to save heritage at risk, volunteering behind the scenes and as a tour guide for Heritage Winnipeg’s Doors Open Winnipeg, judging at the Red River Heritage Fair, taking care of the Millennium Centre and more! As the current President of Heritage Winnipeg, he is involved in endless projects, going above and beyond to ensure they are successful and promoting the efforts of the organizations. Generous, dependable and jovial, Agnew is always willing to lend a hand and takes great pleasure in reminiscing about the past with others. Heritage Winnipeg is so fortunate to have such a treasure as part of our organization. A huge thank you to Agnew for all his hard work!
