GORDON GOLDSBOROUGH
The State of the Heritage Sector

As the Acting Executive Director of the Manitoba Historical Society, Gordon Goldsborough brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. He has spent 24 years as an historical researcher, spearheading numerous multimedia and online projects, and authored five successful books on Manitoba history. Goldshorough will examine what the current challenges in the heritage sector are and where there are opportunities for improvement. What role will heritage play in building our community’s future?

We must find new ways to increase the awareness, appreciation and understanding of our heritage, while better equipping communities to retain and manage their heritage resources. Fostering inclusivity, empowering individuals and meaningfully engaging with concerns can help bring fresh ideas and new energy to heritage conservation. Only through building strong communities will we be able to ensure a vibrant future for our heritage.

Join us for an engaging presentation on the state of the heritage sector – examining trends, innovation, policy, and more!

The 2026 Annual General Report will be posted here once it is available.
