The entries were assessed, and the votes were tallied… Heritage Winnipeg is thrilled to announce the winners of Doors Open Winnipeg 2024! A special thanks to all of the hosts and volunteers for their amazing work during the weekend, making it possible to share the stories that our buildings tell. Another thank you goes out to everyone who voted and participated in the contests; we hope you enjoyed Doors Open Winnipeg 2024 and will join us again next year on May 24th and 25th, 2025!

The winners of the 14th Annual People’s Choice Awards are:

Representatives from the Vaughan Street Jail receiving the 2024 Doors Open Winnipeg award for Best Tour.

Representatives from the Gregg Building Lofts receiving the 2024 Doors Open Winnipeg award for Best Overall Experience.

Representatives from the Holy Trinity Anglican Church receiving the 2024 Doors Open Winnipeg award for Best Architecture.

The winner of the Social Media Contest is Anna!

“We love #DoorsOpenWinnipeg because we love exploring our city and visiting historical places.
This year, we joined a walking tour with amazing Matthew Komus (we have read both of his books!), and even the weather wasn’t cooperating, but his stories kept us amazed throughout the tour!

This weekend was all packed up with beautiful historical (and some haunted) places.
We’ve been in Legislative Building, Dalnavert House, Fort Garry Horse Museum, and Seven Oaks House (didn’t spot any ghosts though).

Huge shoutout to all volunteers who made those visits unforgettable!
Can’t wait to visit more places next year!”

Congratulations to the winners of the Scavenger Hunt!
