Heritage Winnipeg and our city’s built heritage need your support! Please consider donating during our December Donation Drive to help our important work in promoting, educating and defending our city’s rich collection of historic resources.

Advocacy is critical to the protection, financial viability and sustainability of our built heritage, now and for future generations. Current noteworthy advocacy issues we are involved with include the vacant Hudson’s Bay Company downtown store, the Rubin Block at Morley Avenue and Osborne Street, the possible return of the City of Winnipeg Archives to the former Carnegie Library at 380 William Avenue, and supporting the Crescentwood community’s quest for a Heritage Conservation District designation.

Our 18th annual Doors Open Winnipeg event in September was a great success. The public was able to safely engaged with the heritage and cultural sectors at a difficult time, and when social connectivity is more important than ever! The virtual Manitoba Heritage Summit, held in October in partnership with the Provincial Heritage Agencies, also moved crucial conversations forward. We continue to provide valuable services and educational information to the private and non-profit sector. And explore our website to learn more about Heritage Winnipeg’s digital projects.

As we continue to adjust to the ongoing challenges faced by built heritage and non-profits, we appeal to your generosity. Be sure to donate on or before December 31st, 2021 to receive a 2021 tax receipt. With a donation of $100 or more, you will receive a Manitoba 150 commemorative print by artist Robert Sweeney, our colouring book, Winnipeg: Public Transit Through the Years and a charming collection of vintage Winnipeg post cards. For donations of $250 or more, you will receive your choice of beautiful books, Armstrong’s Point: A History or Treasures of Winnipeg’s Exchange District.
