Summer 2021 Student Job Opportunities

In anticipation of funding through Young Canada Works in Heritage Institutions, Heritage Winnipeg is looking for eligible candidates for summer 2021 student positions. There are two potential positions, a Doors Open Winnipeg 2021 Coordinator and a Digital Project Coordinator. We are looking for talented and enthusiastic university students passionate about advocating for and celebrating Winnipeg’s built heritage to join our team. Depending on the COVID-19 situation, the positions may require students to both work from home and from our office located in the Exchange District. Students must meet the criteria set out by Young Canada Works in Heritage Institutions to be considered.

DOORS OPEN WINNIPEG 2021 COORDINATOR

This is a full time position, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (37.5 hours per week) for 16 weeks with an anticipated start date of May 10th, 2021. The rate of pay is $12.50 per hour. The position will include but is not limited to assisting with the planning and coordination of Doors Open Winnipeg, and the creation and management of Doors Open Winnipeg online content. The ideal candidate is a university student from a relevant program who possess the following skills, traits, and interests:
– interested in history and built heritage
– familiar with Doors Open Winnipeg
– competent in using Microsoft Office, Zoom, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite and social media platforms
– superior communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
– able to meet tight deadlines
– works well both independently and as a team
– creative and critical thinker

DIGITAL PROJECT COORDINATOR

This is a full time position, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (37.5 hours per week) for 16 weeks with an anticipated start date of May 10th, 2021. The rate of pay is $12.50 per hour. The position will include but is not limited to assisting in the planning and execution of digital projects, marketing and communication, and the creation and management of Heritage Winnipeg online content. The ideal candidate is a university student from a relevant program who possess the following skills, traits, and interests:
– interested in history and built heritage
– familiar with Heritage Winnipeg
– competent in using Microsoft Office, Zoom, QuickBooks, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite and social media platforms
– superior communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
– able to meet tight deadlines
– works well both independently and as a team
– creative and critical thinker
– strong research and writing skills
