Celebrating 150 years since Manitoba entered confederation and became Canada’s fifth province in 1870.

Towering over the famed intersection of Portage Avenue and Main Street in Winnipeg, the 1913 Bank of Montreal was the final “Temple of Finance” on Bankers’ Row operating as a bank. Designed by the architectural firm of McKim, Mead and White, a monument to bank’s employees lost in the First World War stands in front of the municipality designated site.
