In Memoriam - CELINE KEAR (Nee Power)

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the life of Celine Kear at the Millennium Centre on October 19th, 2017. Special thanks to Celine's sisters, Maureen Roche, Mary Power, Pauline Lake and Bernadette Cocker, WOW Hospitality and all those who made a donation in memory of Celine.

Celine will be deeply missed by everyone at Heritage Winnipeg
 for her unwavering commitment, dedication, and passion to our organization and our city over the many years of her involvement.

It is with great sadness that Heritage Winnipeg acknowledges the passing of Celine Kear on Saturday, September 9th, 2017.  Celine was long-time supporter of and advocate for Winnipeg's built heritage. 

Celine Kear had many decades of experience in the volunteer sector and the charitable non-profit heritage community.  She has served on the Dalnavert Management Committee and on the Board of The Friends of the Ralph Connor House (FRCH). She is a past president of both the Manitoba Historical Society (MHS) and Heritage Winnipeg (HW), and has completed a two –year term as president of the Manitoba branch of the Canadian Federation of University Women. (CFUW)  She taught at Vincent Massey School for many years, and part-time at the University of Winnipeg. Celine was bilingual and she was also an experienced fundraiser.

Recipient of the Heritage Winnipeg Lifetime Achievement award in 2016 for her volunteer efforts in the heritage community.
