Frontlines: The Future of Heritage - Call for Submissions
Creative heritage conservation has the power to connect us to our past while ensuring a more socially sustainable future.
Still, Winnipeg continues to neglect the incredible potential of its built heritage. What needs to change for progressive heritage conservation to flourish in Winnipeg?
Storefront Manitoba and Heritage Winnipeg open call to submit a proposal for a policy, practice, project, or any other idea that could significantly shift the way heritage is conserved in the city. Each one page proposal should outline how the concept will be developed in a compelling fifteen minute presentation. A diverse range of entries will be chosen based on the creativity and feasibility of the idea and the proposed presentation.
How can we make community-focused heritage conservation a priority for developers? How can we communicate the potential of vacant buildings? What heritage projects would set a precedent for more innovative conservation in the city?
All individuals engaged with the city of Winnipeg's Design Community including: architects, landscape architects, planners, developers, and designers.
Deadline/Schedule: 1 page submissions emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by April 1, 2015; Selections determined April 8, 2015.
